Client: Glasgow Prestwick Airport
Location: Prestwick
value: £220,000
Demolition of existing toilets, baby change, cleaners’ cupboards and offices to create new, modern and larger toilet facilities for Glasgow Prestwick Airport.
The refurbishment of the main customer toilets in an operating airport held unique challenges. Firstly, the whole area had to be boarded off and new transit routes for airport passengers put in place. Due to the original construction of the airport a significant amount of asbestos had to be removed before any works could take place.
Construction of new walls and structural ceilings then took place followed by installation of ceramic floor and wall tiles to the whole area using epoxy grout and adhesive.
Key features of the project
Due to time constraints of the project the installation of the cubicles and sanitary ware utilised the pre-plumbed Venesta Vepps system along with solid grade laminate cubicles. Solid surface wash trough style basins with automatic sensor taps and soap dispensers all combine to give a high-end, quality finish.
