In the venerable halls of Prestwick Golf Club, steeped in the rich history of the first-ever British Golf Championship, Clansman Interiors took on the task of rejuvenating the gentlemen’s locker room and the main front entrance. Our mission: to replace a tired 600 x 600mm suspended ceiling with a vision that befits the club’s prestigious legacy.
The gentlemen’s locker room, adorned with fitted timber lockers cherished by the members, required a delicate touch. Careful consideration was given to ensure the lockers remained undisturbed and unharmed throughout both the removal and installation processes.
Meanwhile, the main entrance ceiling, intricately designed around a feature stairwell leading to the main members’ lounge, demanded a solution that complemented the architectural essence of the clubhouse.
Given that the installation would render both the locker room and entrance temporarily unusable, precision and adherence to a tight schedule were paramount. An agreed-upon timeline, set in collaboration with the members and club committee, underscored the need for efficiency without compromising the quality of the refurbishment.
Key features of the project
Meticulous replacement of 600 x 600mm mineral fibre ceiling. Clansman Interiors executed a seamless transition, introducing a new MF plasterboard ceiling to enhance the visual appeal and functionality of the locker room and entrance.
The chosen solution comprised Gyproc MF ceiling grid and a layer of 12mm wallboard, enhanced with plaster coving to create a distinctive panel effect. This meticulous detailing not only added a touch of sophistication but also seamlessly tied in with the architectural nuances of the clubhouse.
Recognising the importance of minimal disruption, the project adhered to a tight schedule. The efficient execution of the refurbishment ensured that the locker room and entrance were swiftly restored to usability, meeting the expectations of both the members and the club committee.
