Strip out and removal from site fourteen 1 hour fire rated office entrance doors and supply and install 1 hour fire rated leaf and 1/2 glass doors.
Key features of the project
180 West George Street is a Grade A category office building in Glasgow with seven floors of office space with each floor divided into two office suites. All works had to take place on a night shift basis as most offices were occupied during the day time.
The project consisted of obtaining a manufacturer who could supply a certified 1 hour fire rated leaf and a half glass door with pull handles and lock rather than the standard lever handles and latch. To archive this we used Crittall Fendor who had to have the doors specially tested and certified. As these were fire doors that need to stay within regulation we had remove the existing doors and fit the new doors in one night. All doors also had various access control systems installed on them so the access control supplier for each door had to be present to undo and reinstall their system on each new door.
