Client name: George Watson College Boathouse
Project value: £40,600
Refurbishment of a disused container beside the Boathouse into toilet facilities for George Watson College Boating club.
The project involved raising the container off the ground to allow drainage connections to be made and the installation of a new floor, new external cladding, new roof, and anti-graffiti coating added to the cladding.
The inside of the container underwent a complete refurbishment which included installation of electric lights and heating, sanitary ware facilities, vinyl flooring and hygienic wall cladding.
This was a challenging project due to the small site area, the poor state of the container and its proximity to the canal. In a nutshell, the project required us to create washroom facilities from a rusty container to meet the standards required of George Watson College which is one of the prestigious fee paying schools in Edinburgh.
